(001) Plastic-Covered Hoop wire (hoop boning) (SCS-039-P)
Two steel strips of wire encased in a plastic coating
approximately 1/2" wide. Comes in 12 yard reels.
One reel will usually make up to a six wire hoop
150" diameter. Used in casings for stiffening hoops.
Fits inside 3/4" bone casing (see corset supplies)
for an easy casing. Use with U-tips (see below) to
finish raw cut edges. Waterproof, will not rust.

(002) Cloth-covered Steel Hoop wire (hoop-boning) (SCS-039-C)
Two steel strips of wire encased in a cloth cover to make a wire
approximately 1/2" wide. Used in casings for stiffening hoops.
Fits inside 3/4" bone casing (see corset supplies) for an easy casing.
Comes in 12 yard reels. One reel will usually make up to a
six wire hoop 150" diameter. Use with U-tips (see below) to
finish raw cut edges. May rust if not dried immediately upon wetting.

(003) U-tips to finish hoop wire edges (SCS-040)
Metal 1/2" tips in a U-shape that fit over the raw cut
edges of hoop wire to protect the casings from being ripped.
AlterYears suggests using 527 Craft Cement, E6000 glue
or other "stinky" glue to attach a U-tip to the hoopwire end
before crimping with pliers. Crimp both top to bottom
and across the wire. Let glue dry overnight for best staying power.
Sold in packages of 12 - enough to fit six hoops.
