(004) PAY-024 Easy Princess Gown (Kirtle)
This pattern allows you to create several elegant full-skirted long gowns. The side front and side back seams come down from the top of the shoulder for a correct pincess-seamed Medieval look, while shaping the gown beautifully to the body. Create an optical illusion of slimness by using a darker fabric for the sides and a contrasting lighter fabric for center front and center back.
Choose from two necklines: a round scoop of squared off front, and three back closures: sipper, button or laced. The gown is unlined with neck facings for ease of construction. The sleeves are straight and the skirts are very full. Add a matching belt to complete the look.
Wear this gown alone, under a sideless surcoat or cotehardie, or for a later look, under a Renaissance surcoat. It also makes a lovely prom or wedding dress!
